So Grace and Oliver studied every Aquaponics book they could get their hands on, prepared their land, dug trenches laid both electrical and plumbing pipe in order to construct their greenhouse. Living in the High Desert of Southern California made it necessary for them to place their own food growing systems in a protected, controlled environment. Then Oliver’s engineering brain got busy creating one of the only Complete Compact Home Aquaponic Systems in the United States. They call their one and two bed Food Growing Systems the FGS-1 and the FGS-2. Now they are ready to share everything they’ve learned with you. Their goal is to make Aquaponics a household word in the US just like it is in Australia.

These two entrepreneurs  are in a unique position to be two of the best teachers of this technology on the planet. Grace is a trained Teacher with a Lifetime California teaching credential and has worked as an advertising copywriter in her past and Oliver is an Aerospace Engineer. Their two talents combine to make them naturals at this business.

And even though they both consider themselves to be urbanites, having lived most of their lives in the city, three years ago, they moved to a more rural environment and now make their home in a little high desert town above Palm Springs. “I consider myself to be an urban farmer,” says Grace. “I can’t fully express how surprised I am at my new found desire and willingness to grow my own food. I’ve made a huge paradigm shift because I truly believe it’s going to be necessary to be food independent.” On the other hand, Oliver is in his glory designing these complete, compact food-growing systems with an ingenious light weight stand and storage unit.  “I can’t wait to share this design with the world so people can purchase these units from us. We still have time to get our systems up and running before we’re hit with food shortages,” he said.

So here’s your opportunity to learn from people who were just like you not too long ago--people who weren’t farmers but are average middle-class Americans who have learned to grow their own food. And they’re eager to share every step of this process with you because Aquaponics USA is so much more than a business,

it’s a movement To BE

FOOD INDEPENDENT

Here they are standing on the bare leveled dirt that now sits under the concrete that serves as the floor of their beautiful Greenhouse. Watch for the up-coming PHOTOS Page for all the stages of the actual construction and set-up of the Greenhouse.

There was a time when Grace and Oliver were in the same boat as most Americans when it came to this ingenious way to grow both fish and vegetables side by side in a cross-supported system. It was a complete mystery; but one they found to be very intriguing, so they decided to learn everything they could about it eventually turning Aquaponics into a thriving business.

Aquaponics USA is the only company creating compact systems for the average American home or apartment.  It’s a forerunner in that regard, and there’s no doubt this self sustaining food growing technology is about to take the world by storm.  It’s kind of like when the automobile first came on the scene--hardly anyone had one. Now there are two cars in every garage.

Well, it won’t be long before the cars get parked in the driveway to make room for a couple of aquaponic food growing units; and Aquaponics USA is banking on it being one of their ingenious compact systems. “Everyone will soon realize they’ve got to have one,” said Grace, recently. “And we’ll all look back at these last fifty years of depending solely on manufactured food as the dark ages because we’ll realize how important fresh, organic, pesticide and GMO free food really is to our health, well-being and peace of mind.”

Not depending on gigantic corporations to feed us and instead taking responsibility for sustaining ourselves is the wave of the future--one that curls back into the past when great grandma and grandpa grew their own food. “People will feel their aquaponic system is the most important thing in their household,” Oliver said.  “Because they’ll see the difference in their own and their children’s faces once they’ve eaten real food for a while.” This is what FOOD INDEPENDENCE is all about, taking responsibility for the most important thing in life--your FOOD.
